Harold W. Lavender, Jr. is Director of Business and Financial Development at ABQid. Following graduation from UNM, service in the USAF, graduation from UNM School of Law, and practicing law, he moved to Chicago and spent 34 years as a trader and broker at the Chicago Board of Trade. Lavender was twice elected to the Board of Directors of the Board of Trade, and served on the Executive Committee. Upon his return to Albuquerque in 2010, he became Of Counsel to the Modrall Sperling law firm, worked with Robert Singer at the New Mexico Law Group, and was Of Counsel to the Montgomery & Andrews law firm in its Albuquerque office. Appointed by the NM Legislature to the NM State Investment Council in 2011, Lavender has been since early 2012 Chairman of the Investment Committee of the NMSIC. He served on the Board of The Bank of the Rio Grande, served on the Board of Quality New Mexico, is an advisor to New Mexico Community Capital, and serves on the Executive Committee of the UNM Alumni Association. He was elected to the Board of Sandia Foundation in August of 2013 and in 2014 was appointed Chairman of the Sandia Foundation Investment Committee.
